I have recently finished studying acting in college and in my second year. I study a variety of different classes to do with acting.
Fist of all I study Acting with Paul Meade in these classes we study different play writes both Irish and from abroad, so far we have studied Chekov, Shakespeare and Sean OCasey we are currently working on monologues from plays written by Irish play writes. My piece is from Howie the Rookie by Mark ORowe this piece is for our Trinity Guildhall exams the other piece I am using for this is a monologue from Hamlet spoken by Laertes
I also study voice thought by Helena Walsh. With her I have studied methods originally thought by Catherine Fitzmaurice this method is known as Fitzmaurice voicework and is known worldwide as one of the most famous voice technique. We also study the work of Cicely Berry, which is another voice method known worldwide. Helena Walsh is the only person within Ireland who teaches this work.
As part of my course I have taken part in dance classes and have had to do a dance for my end of year of exams. My dance teachers where Marian Lennon who is a well established dancer through out Europe and Ireland and Diane Richardson who thought us tap dance. Diane has worked for major companies and was the choreographer of our end of year dance which was to Sammy Davis Jnrs: Rhythm Of Life.
